It was pointed out later in the series that just by going back to warn Goku about the androids, Trunks split the timelines (he’d have had to— or else he’d have created a paradox). So whatever happened in “our” timeline was under much different circumstances than in Mirai Trunk’s “dark” timeline.

It’s 434 pages, a decent little chunk, but it shouldn’t take me more than a couple hours to read.

I did ask her to pick out for me her favorite book, instead of a good “introduction” to the genre, because I don’t actually want to get into Para-rom, I just want something to talk about when we’re together.

I can power through even a decent-sized book in a day or less if it’s a fun read.

Taking the Werewolf-fucking Plunge: Diving into Paranormal Romance:

So my I asked my friend to pick out one of her favorite books for me, so that I could read it and we’d have something to talk about when we’re hanging out together (since we don’t really watch the same shows or do any of the same things, but I do really like hanging out with her, she’s sweet). She gave me this book, Beast Behaving Badly by Shelly Laurenston, telling me that she’d read this book over and over, and it’s one of her absolute favorites. I agreed to read it as an introduction to the Paranormal Romance genre, which is her favorite.

This isn’t the first book in the series— I dunno where it is in this particular story— but I told her I didn’t mind starting in the middle, as long as the book was good.

Here’s the summary from Amazon:

Bo Novikov - part polar bear, part lion, and pure alpha male - can’t leave Blayne Thorpe alone. He’s determined to protect her from stalkers who want to use her in shifter dogfights.

…I feel like I’m going to be facepalming a lot.

But since I refuse to suffer this fine work of literature alone, I will be posting chapter-by-chapter reviews and commentary. You can blacklist these posts by savioring the tag #jaydee reads.

WHAT I KNOW ABOUT THE BOOK SO FAR:

I know that it’s a “shifter” book, meaning it’s about people who turn into animals. Mer (my Para-rom friend) told me that the main character, Blayne, is a half- wolf, half-African dog hybrid shifter. She also said something about people being hunted and purebreds and fights? She was getting really excited about explaining the story to me and I was having trouble following.

(I love Mer so much. It’s not her fault her books are silly. I mean I really like Artemis Fowl and those books are fucking painful to read sometimes.)

Anyway so I guess Bearguy is a hockey player. I don’t know what Blayne does. The cover of the book doesn’t give me any clues, so I’m diving into this book almost blind.
